Infrastructure firm Kier Highways has praised Suttons Tankers for delivering four million litres of bitumen emulsion this year and helping to improve the nation’s crumbling road network.

Bitumen emulsion is used for road construction, maintenance and repair work and is the substance that holds aggregate and asphalt to the road.

Suttons Tankers helped move the bitumen across Kier’s local authority and contractor clients during an eight-week summer campaign.

Lee Draper, general manager at Kier Transportation, said: “Suttons has played an integral role in our supply chain this surface treatments season.

“By working with Suttons, we have benefited from enhanced flexibility to manage the peaks and troughs of emulsion demand.

“Transporting emulsion from Wymondham Plant, our bituminous materials production facility in Norfolk, to locations across the UK requires extensive stakeholder engagement and planning.

”Suttons has proved a valuable, collaborative partner, to deliver a seamless, high-quality service for our clients.”
