Temperature-controlled storage and distribution specialist JS Davidson has secured the highest AA* grade under the BRCGS Global Standard for Storage & Distribution, following an unannounced audit.

The grade is an internationally recognised benchmark, requiring robust risk management, product safety procedures and rigorous operational controls to protect the integrity and quality of goods throughout the supply chain.

Unlike a scheduled assessment, an unannounced audit provides an independent assessment of the business’s everyday practices and procedures, demonstrating that high standards are consistently maintained throughout the year, not simply in preparation for an inspection.

Announcing the award, the company said the top grade endorses its commitment to maintaining exceptional standards of food safety, quality and operational compliance.

JS Davidson, which has its headquarters in Peterborough, provides customers with a range of integrated range services covering multi-temperature storage, blast freezing, product tempering, co-packing and processing, distribution and freight and provides customers with bespoke solutions.

MD John Davidson (pictured), said: “We are absolutely delighted to have achieved the AA* grade, particularly following an unannounced audit. It is a fantastic achievement and one that everyone across the business should be incredibly proud of.

“Maintaining these standards requires commitment every single day. It is about ensuring that food safety, quality and compliance are embedded in everything we do, rather than simply preparing for an audit.

“Our customers place enormous trust in us to look after their products, and this result reinforces our commitment to providing the highest levels of service, care and confidence. My thanks go to the entire team for their continued hard work and dedication.”
