Plans to build a new headquarters for Palletways in Staffordshire have been given a boost after the local council granted planning permission.

The decision by Lichfield District Council to greenlight the plans in Fradley provides the express palletised freight network with a bespoke HQ that is intended to support its growth in the region.

Prologis has been chosen to deliver the project and it has been designed around Palletways’ operational requirements, creating a modern environment supporting growth, enhancing colleague wellbeing and incorporating sustainability.

Rob Gittins, MD of Palletways UK said: “This milestone represents a significant step in our long-term investment in the UK and in particular Lichfield for the last 32 years.”

Prologis said it would create an HQ that supported Palletways’ long-term ambitions and deliver benefits to the local area: “We’re grateful for the constructive engagement of Lichfield District Council throughout the planning process and look forward to progressing the development,” added Caroline Musker, Prologis head of planning.

Construction is expected to commence in November.

With planning permission unconditional, the project now moves into delivery phase.
