Stobart owner Culina Group has launched a fund to support community groups attempting to tackle climate change, which it said represented the next phase of its sustainability journey.
The fund has been set up for initiatives by non-profit organisations that drive environmental improvements and includes schools and colleges.
The group was among the first major 3PL providers to commit to science based targets initiative goals, underscoring its long-term commitment to reducing carbon emissions across its operations.
Culina added that the fund was open to applications and it welcomed proposals for innovative green projects and sustainability initiatives that require financial support to deliver measurable environmental and community benefits.
Liam McElroy, group CEO at Culina Group, said: “As an organisation, we are fully committed to reducing our own carbon footprint, but we want to go further by helping others do the same.
“The Culina Group sustainability fund aims to improve the natural environment, promote long‑term sustainable behaviours, and encourage community engagement in environmental initiatives.
“Through this fund, we will help educate younger generations about how they can make a positive difference, while supporting a diverse range of projects that create meaningful, lasting change within the communities we serve.”
