Aldi is to install InPost parcel lockers in more than half of its UK stores, which will see the service offered in over 600 locations by the end of the year.
The move follows a successful trial last year, which saw the supermarket launch InPost parcel lockers outside over 500 of its stores.
Now the partnership will roll out around 100 more by the end of 2025.
Jonathan Neale, Aldi UK national real estate MD, said: “Convenience and efficiency is important to our shoppers, which is why we’re continuing to roll out InPost lockers to as many of our stores as possible.
“It has always been our aim to save our customers time as well as money, so making it easy for people to pick up or return parcels while getting the weekly shop done has been really valuable.”
Neil Kuschel, InPost UK chief executive, added: “Our growing partnership with Aldi reflects a shared commitment to offer the best everyday shopping experience for customers across the UK.
“Together, we’re helping to create a more convenient, cost-effective and sustainable way for shoppers to manage their parcels, making collection and returns as easy and accessible as possible.”
According to recent research from InPost and Retail Economics, locker-based delivery and returns are gaining traction in the UK, with over 115 million retail parcels delivered or returned through lockers in the past 12 months.
The study, which surveyed 2,000 households and parcel volume data, estimated 87 million outbound deliveries were made via parcel lockers—accounting for 7% of all online orders. A further 28 million returns, or 12% of all online returns, were processed through lockers.
The report also found that two in five UK adults—approximately 21 million people—have used a parcel locker in the past year, whether to collect, return, or send a parcel.
