Yodel has forged a two-year partnership with The Cornish Company, marking a “strong year of growth”, the parcel delivery company announced this week.

This latest contract follows a number of new client wins and renewals this year and a strong year of growth for Yodel with full-year volumes up 3%, and revenues up 3.4% in FY23.

Yodel has also continued to make investment in its infrastructure with a £14m investment in its fleet last year and opening a new depot in Huyton, Merseyside earlier this year.

The parcel delivery firm attributes its latest win to having over ten years of experience in delivering a wide range of specialist items including fresh food, pet food, alcohol and flowers.

The Cornish Company sells a variety of traditional Cornish food, cream teas and drinks and has a mission is to bring the Cornish community together by celebrating and championing local artisan food & drink producers. It aims to spread the Cornish message across the UK and eventually around the world.

Mike Hancox, Yodel chief executive, said: “After a successful FY23, we are excited to continue the trajectory of the business this year by adding new clients.

”We are also looking forward to working with such an innovative business, helping with its vision for the future and delivering their products with the same warmth as a Cornish kitchen.

”Aside from supporting The Cornish Company with deliveries, we also will be ‘pie’oritising’ further collaborations such as seasonal promotions.”

Tom Woodley, MD of The Cornish Company said: “We are thrilled to announce the partnership between The Cornish Company and Yodel.

”Partnering with Yodel was a seamless transition, with the superb support of our account manager. We have already seen some brilliant benefits including exceptional customer service and exciting seasonal promotions successfully delivered.

”We look forward to this relationship with Yodel and many more of our exciting collaborations.”

Yodel was acquired in February this year by YDLGP, a consortium which includes 29-year-old entrepreneur Jacob Corlett, founder of Shift, the tech-based delivery firm which bought Tuffnells in June last year.

At the time of the acquisition, its new owners said  they planned to form a “disruptive logistics powerhouse.”
