Norbert Dentressangle (ND) has moved the Warrington hub of its specialist fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) pallet pooling operation La Palette Rouge (LPR) to a new 50,000ft² facility, injecting £750,000 and doubling the workforce.
ND is spending £600,000 on new equipment including pallet inverters, conveyors, spray booth and drying kiln, along with £150,000 to refurbish offices at the site near junction 20 of the M6 in Stretton.
The investment will make the depot the largest of eight LPR facilities operated by ND in the UK, with the ability to handle 2.4 million pallets per annum.
The Warrington workforce will increase to 28 with the creation of 15 new jobs, following the move from a smaller facility on the same site.
ND has been working with LPR, a division of Euro Pool System, since 2003 and is responsible for the collection of goods from the FMCG and food services sectors and the maintenance of 1.6 million pallets.
Operating throughout Europe, LPR customers include Kelloggs, Kimberley-Clark and Weetabix.
