Hauliers now have instant access to the availability of service stations across England after two tech firms worked together to provide a colour-coded online hub.

Uploaded to the Traffic England website, the information shows current availability of the 118 motorway services, as well as the provision of fuel, drinks, takeaway food, toilets and parking.

Thales and WSP worked with Highways England to provide an update to their joint venture, Network Information Services and it is updated daily so that hauliers can ensure a smoother journey.

Mark Garrity, strategy director at Thales said: “In a constantly changing environment, it’s vital that people making essential journeys are kept up to date.”
