Shown here is one of five new MAN TGS 6x2s that have joined the fleet of 3PL Norbert Dentressangle to service its contract with Forbo Flooring Systems.
All are equipped with a roof-suspended load restraint system, internal bars to allow product to be stored vertically, and Hiab Moffett truck-mounted forklifts with carpet booms to handle rolls of flooring up to 4m long that weigh up to 200kg apiece.
The vehicles, which entered service in October, replace older wagon-and-drag units and all feature a tracking system with geofencing that allows Forbo to automatically alert customers to impending deliveries by email and SMS.
Norbert Dentressangle has worked with Forbo since 1997, most recently signing a new three year contract in June last year. It currently provides Forbo with around 90,000ft² of storage at its shared user facility in Warrington and operates a dedicated fleet of five vehicles, moving around 400 tonnes of product and making around 800 deliveries each week.
