Just months after Microlise suffered its Hallowe’en cyber attack last year, which hit DHL store deliveries, the tech company has gathered together a panel of experts to discuss the challenges of ensuring cyber security, at its Microlise Transport Conference 2025, taking place next month at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

The cyber security panel, hosted by Microlise chief executive Nadeem Raza, will include a number of top industry experts including Johnty Mongan, Gallagher global head of cyber risk management, David Brown, NCC Group principal security consultant and Paul Crichard, Serco UK and Europe chief information security officer.

Other industry experts and thought leaders taking to the stage at the conference will be Richard Leonard, National Highways director of network planning, who will be examining the role of the strategic road network in connecting UK industry.

Iain Forbes, DfT director of logistics and borders will also be headlining the main stage, delivering his insight into the Future of Freight, along with Chris Welch, MD of Welch Group, who will look into the future beyond electric fleets and consider how companies can build sustainable transport ecosystems through energy innovation.

In an interactive session, Charlotte Le Maire, LMP Legal founder and partner, will lead a mock trial exploring the legal consequences of ignoring technology, where attendees are invited to judge and offer their verdict.

There will also be a number of workshops at the conference under the umbrella themes: compliance, skills, innovation and technology.

The compliance workshops will be delivered by representatives from transport solicitor Blackhouse Jones, the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service, the Traffic Commissioners for Great Britain and the DVSA.

Meanwhile, skills workshops will be delivered by subject matter experts from the Society of Operations Engineers, the Institute of Road Transport Engineers and the RHA.

The conference is set to attract 1,200 delegates from the road transport industry and will be hosted by BBC technology reporter Kate Russell.
