The Steve Porter Transport Group and Meachers Global Logistics have entered a new palletised deal.
The deal will see the partnership moving 10,000 pallets a year from Meacher’s warehouse in Southampton to locations across the UK.
Steve Porter will predominantly deliver the pallets as part of its membership within the Fortec network, but will be moving a small volume of the 10,000 figure independently.
The companies’ partnership was formed back in 2012, then solidified with the opening of a consolidation centre in Southampton the following year.
Steve Porter MD, Malcolm Gibson, said the new deal “reflects the strength of [our] strategic partnership with Meachers Global and will provide commercial advantages to both organisations”.
Gary Whittle, commercial director of Meachers Global Logistics, said: “We are delighted to have extended our partnership with the Isle of Wight’s largest independent freight carrier and looking forward to the continued growth of our relationship.”
