PD Ports has taken delivery of 10 MAN TGX 6x2 tractors from Dawsongroup on a five-year contract.

The XLX 26.470 vehicles come with additional safety features including audible handbrake systems and driver alert, talking reverse alarms, smoke alarms and are all DVS compatible.

Gary Archer, engineering services manager at PD Ports, said: “Our business continues to grow, so a high proportion of these are fleet additions.

“We have had good service from Dawsongroup truck and trailer over the past six years, when they first helped us with some peak demand vehicle needs.

“They have never let us down, so we were confident in their ability to help us manage the R&M contract to keep any potential downtime to a minimum.”

The vehicles are liveried as part of the company’s Groveport Logistics fleet and will be operating out of PD Ports’ Groveport facility, a 190-acre inland complex on the River Trent. Groveport specialises in steel, forest products and dry bulk cargo, and is located three miles from the UK’s motorway network with sea access via the Humber Estuary.
