MAN has announced a series of product highlights for its new TGX, TGS, TGM and TGL models, which it said would make them more efficient, safer and user-friendly.
Arriving between the second half of this year and early 2022, they include the MAN OptiView mirror replacement system; the MAN CruiseAssist driving assistant, as well as additional fuel savings.
It said the optional mirror replacement system was the main visual highlight and can be ordered from October onwards.
It works exclusively with cameras, showing what is happening all around the truck on two hi-res displays on the A-pillars and on the screen of the media system.
The collision avoidance assistant is an extension of the previous lane change warning system and intervenes by countersteering if a collision is imminent.
Meanwhile, MAN’s dynamic torque adjustment function is available from July and when combined with its other features and aerodynamics should all help to drive down operators’ fuel use by up to 3.7%.
Goran Nyberg, MAN Truck & Bus executive board member, said: “We know that our customers’ businesses never stand still, so at MAN we never stop working on enhancements for our products.
“For this reason, we are making our new truck generation more efficient, safer and more innovative and are placing even more focus on simplifying the day-to-day operations of our customers and drivers, thus making us a reliable and competent partner.”
