The men’s Olympic triathlon will close down much of London’s West End tomorrow (7 August).
Hyde Park is the host location for the triathlon, and athletes will complete a cycle circuit that takes in Buckingham Palace and the Wellington Arch.
The event will start at 11:30am and finish at around 2:00pm. Roads for the event will start to close at 2:00am, with Hyde Park Corner closing at 6:00am, reopening again as soon as it is safe to do so. The Piccadilly underpass will remain open throughout.
Parts of the triathlon route will take place on the Olympic Route Network (ORN).
Therefore, sections 1,2,3,4 and 5 of the road event ORN will be used as the alternative route for the Games family when the road event is taking place.
