A new web portal that aims to marry up tanker operators with suitable loads is to be launched this summer by transport management consultancy Lateu Logistics.
The loadsfortankers.com site will provide a low-cost, pay-as-you-go service for vehicle operators with free registration and will cover all tanker cargos including fuels, lubricants, powders, pellets and food products, said loadfortankers.com operations manager Helen Lewis.
Load consignors advertising on the site will pay one of four fixed fees between £20 and £70 (depending on selected service level) when those loads are successfully contracted out - but nothing if they are not; hauliers responding by sending in quotes will pay nothing unless they win the business, in which case a £20 flat fee will be payable, said Lewis.
The new site is expected to go live during May.
