Kuehne + Nagel Drinks Logistics (KNDL) has begun to move into its new sites as it presses ahead with its network restructure.
The operator has successfully moved some of its operations into a site in Eastleigh, Hampshire, where it will operate 12 vehicles.
A KNDL spokeswoman said: “It is one of our new transit points and we have relocated operations previously based at Portsmouth to Eastleigh.”
The Portsmouth site has now been completely closed, she added.
KNDL revealed plans to develop three ‘superhubs’ in Thatcham, Livingstone, and Wakefield earlier in the year. They will be supported by a network of smaller ‘transit points’.
Members of the union Unite staged a 24-hour strike in September, but plans for further industrial action were halted after the two parties made “considerable progress” in meetings.
