Kuehne + Nagel (K+N) intends to extend its delivery capability in the UK, after signing a deal with parcel delivery management firm the MetaPack Group to use its software.
MetaPack says the deal will allow K+N to offer its customers more delivery options, and will help it meet customer demand for convenient and affordable delivery as online retail orders continue to grow.
The MetaPack system, which manages deliveries with over 200 parcel carriers across Europe on behalf of the operator, will be integrated with K+N’s warehouse management system.
Joshua Brimley, general manager e-commerce at Kuehne + Nagel UK, said maintaining relationships with individual parcel carriers before the system was introduced initially in Germany was costly.
"We are very excited about integrating MetaPack with our core shipping systems as part of continuous efforts to improve our technology infrastructure and provide superior services to our clients,” he said.
