John Lewis has completed a nationwide roll-out of its click and collect offering at CollectPlus outlets, following a successful trial that began in September last year.
The service has been expanded across the UK after the completion of a trial that took place in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the south west of England. CollectPlus claims it handled over 18,000 parcels on the retailer’s behalf during the first seven months of the trial.
Consumers will be charged £3 for next day delivery to one of 5,500 CollectPlus convenience stores, petrol stations and supermarkets. CollectPlus hopes to expand the service, which is a joint initiative between Yodel and Paypoint, to 7,500 stores by the end of the year.
The service will complement the retailer's own in-house click and collect service. Last year it said it would be trialling deliveries using its own fleet in south west London.
James Leeson, head of online category at John Lewis, said: “Click & collect has become a huge part of our business and we are committed to providing our customers with the most convenient shopping experience. We’re delighted to have extended that to every corner of the country.”
