Logistics UK has recruited Brenda Maguire as its Northern Ireland policy lead, operating out of its Belfast office.
Maguire has over 16 years’ experience working in policy and campaigning roles and has a strong record of representing organisations and industries across Northern Ireland.
Logistics UK said her career had included acting as a positive and proactive voice for large health charities, retail and hospitality businesses, as well as the banking sector.
In her new role, Maguire will lead the group’s policy activity in Northern Ireland, working with members, political stakeholders and industry partners to promote the priorities of the logistics sector.
Maguire said: “I’m excited to be joining Logistics UK at an important time for Northern Ireland.
“Logistics underpins every part of the economy, and as we navigate the post-Brexit environment, global uncertainty and move towards a greener economy, an efficient logistics sector is critical for economic prosperity and supply chain stability.”
Logistics UK chief executive Ben Fletcher said her appointment came at a critical time for Northern Ireland’s economy: “Northern Ireland has a unique and important role within the UK supply chain, and it is vital that the logistics sector has a strong voice as policy continues to evolve,” he said.
“Brenda’s appointment will strengthen our ability to champion the sector, support our members and highlight the essential role logistics plays in driving economic success.”
