Microlise is offering operators a 60-day free trial of its Clearvision AI Distraction camera, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to detect when drivers are distracted and to issue a warning.
The Clearvision AI Distraction Camera uses state-of-the-art computer vision technology to provide near real-time monitoring of driver behaviour.
The camera can accurately detect various forms of distraction – including mobile phone usage, eating, drinking, and smoking – and provide immediate feedback to drivers, helping them understand the risks associated with their behaviour.
During the 60-day trial period, companies can experience the benefits of real-time monitoring of driver behaviour, immediate feedback and alerts, video evidence of incidents, and targeted coaching and training for drivers as needed.
Microlise said the Clearvision AI Distraction Camera has already shown impressive results, with one company reporting an 80% reduction in mobile phone distraction and a 43% reduction in overall risk after just three months of use.
In addition to enhancing safety, the Group’s Clearvision AI Distraction Camera and wider camera solution offers other benefits, such as helping to reduce insurance premiums, improving fuel efficiency, and enhancing compliance with regulatory requirements.
The camera system also promotes a culture of safety within fleets, fostering a sense of responsibility and accountability among drivers, the company added.
Nadeem Raza, Microlise Group chief executive, said: “Since we launched this product 12 months ago, we’ve received positive feedback from businesses highlighting the benefits the AI Distraction Camera has had.
“Driver distraction is a serious issue that requires proactive measures, and our cameras offer a proactive and effective solution. This technology represents a major advancement in fleet safety, allowing companies to extend their health and safety culture out to road users. It truly demonstrates our commitment to creating safer roads and saving lives.”
