The RHA has launched a Business Confidence Survey, calling on all HGV, coach and van operators to share their views ahead of the Autumn Budget on 28 October.
The short survey forms part of the RHA’s Autumn Budget campaign, “Back the Businesses that Keep Britain Moving”.
It covers the issues impacting operators- fuel and operating costs, taxation, skills, investment and infrastructure - and what government could do to help them.
RHA said that business confidence, against the backdrop of rising operating costs, was one of the central themes at its recent annual Future Forum, with conversations throughout the day repeatedly returning to the pressures businesses are facing right now.
Richard Smith, RHA managing director, added: “Business confidence matters. Without it, businesses hold back on investment, recruitment and the decisions that drive growth. These are tough times for many firms. Business confidence is currently being squeezed from every direction.
“Fuel, wages, taxation, increased regulation, and the wider cost of doing business are all weighing on decisions that should be about growth, not survival.
“We want to hear what is impacting your business. These answers will shape the case we put to the Chancellor ahead of the Budget next month.”
