UK drivers and fleet managers have cast more than 2,000 votes since the Haul of Fame Awards voting opened on 1 December 2025, according to SNAP, which is organising the event.

The digital transport solutions provider said that the response from drivers offers an early snapshot of what matters most on the road, from welfare facilities and site quality to consistent standards across the UK haulage network.

Now in its inaugural year, the Haul of Fame Awards event features eleven categories spanning truck stops, truck washes, individual contribution and industry content creation.

SNAP said shortlisted entries include a broad mix of UK sites, services and individuals, reflecting the diversity of infrastructure supporting both domestic haulage and international routes into Europe.

Unlike traditional industry awards, the Haul of Fame is shaped entirely by public voting. This approach gives UK drivers and fleet managers a direct voice in recognising the sites, services and people that support them on the road.

Commenting on HGV1 Radio’s involvement in the awards, Mikey Faulkner, programme director at HGV1 Radio, said: “Being part of the Haul of Fame is a huge honour for us.

“We know how much a good wash and a decent coffee matter when you’re out on the road, which is why HGV1 Radio is proud to sponsor the ‘Best Truck Wash UK’ category. We’re ready to find out who really gets those rigs the shiniest.”

Early voting trends show strong interest in the welfare and site quality categories, reinforcing the role that safe, reliable facilities play for drivers on long domestic journeys and cross-border routes from the UK.

As pressure on UK road infrastructure grows and expectations around welfare increase, the awards underline what matters most to drivers and operators in their day-to-day working lives, SNAP explained.

Commenting on the response so far, James Harding, SNAP brand manager, said: “What is interesting about the response is the breadth of feedback coming through.

“Drivers and operators are voting based on very different experiences, which helps highlight the range of facilities and standards that exist across the network and the realities of day-to-day life on the road.”

Developed by SNAP, the Haul of Fame Awards aims to showcase best practices across the UK and beyond, while recognising the often unseen work that keeps supply chains moving.

The programme reflects broader industry discussions around access to quality facilities, consistency across regions and the importance of listening to drivers and operators when raising standards across the transport network.

Public voting remains open until 28 February, with UK drivers and fleet managers invited to take part. Winners of the inaugural Haul of Fame Awards will be determined by the highest number of public votes in each category and announced in late March.
