Hunts Food Group will add 13 DAF trucks and 12 Mercedes-Benz vans to its fleet this year, all using Carrier Supra refrigeration units.

The Dorset-based business, which manufactures, sells and delivers food products, already operates a 75-strong fleet and it said it required vehicles that can transport products quickly and efficiently, while maintaining strict food quality standards.

The DAFs range from 12 to 18 tonnes and are currently being designed and built for delivery later in 2024.

The vehicles will use Solomon’s aerodynamic Slipstream systems for optimum fuel efficiency and have Ark camera safety systems fitted as standard.

Phil Hopkins, Hunts’ transport director, said: “We rely on Solomon Commercials to provide us with the best temperature-controlled vehicles to meet the needs of the business, and we trust their guidance and advice.”
