Hermes has revealed that its ParcelShops have handled more than 870,000 parcels since the concept was introduced in June.
The carrier says its SME online delivery service, myHermes, has experienced significant growth in the past 12 months. myHermes volumes, including that handled by its network of 1,000 ParcelShops, have more than doubled to 3.6 million in the last year.
Earlier this year the firm said the ParcelShop network was running ahead of expectations after a strong performance during the Christmas peak, handling over 250,000 parcels during December.
Hermes head of marketing Jonathan Bennett said: "We have seen phenomenal demand for our service with consumers, eBay Powersellers, Amazon Marketplace sellers and online retailers who are looking for a convenient and effective delivery solution. We are committed to building on this success by maintaining our high service standards and expanding the offering we provide to customers."
Hermes plans to have expanded its ParcelShop network to 2,500 locations by the end of 2013.
