Readers with long-ish memories may recall the 'Vote for Phil' campaign launched by DHL Express in an effort to get its CEO Phil Couchman voted Leader of the Year in the National Business Awards. Sadly at the awards bash on Tuesday Couchman was beaten to the title by Harriet Green, CEO of Thomas Cook.

Green was not only the glam lady to go on stage to collect a trophy - Hermes boss Carole Woodhead looked absolutely delighted with her Growth Business of the Year award (pictured above) while DPD's director of customer experience Sinead Croke (below) picked up the Customer Focus award.

Neither Hermes nor DPD are strangers to collecting trophies, both companies having walked away with their fair share of MT Awards in recent years.

So come on DHL, shake off the despondency of missing out on an NBA and go for the really sought after trophy in the industry, an MTA. Entries wil open in a few weeks.
