GXO’s long-standing partnership with Manchester Airport has been extended as it undergoes a £1bn transformation programme.
Since 2006, GXO has been providing logistics services to retail, food and beverage vendors at the airport, helping them to deliver their services to millions of passengers each year.
In that time, GXO has helped Manchester scale up in line with increasing demand and it now supports more than 70 retailers and food and beverage vendors.
As part of the mandate, GXO operates a 29,000sq ft screening and consolidation centre, with up to 80 inbound deliveries received daily and consolidated onto its last-mile delivery fleet.

Gavin Williams, GXO MD, said: “We’re proud to renew our long-standing contract with Manchester Airport.
“Our team provides highly flexible and responsive services that form an integral part of the airport infrastructure and leverages our extensive industry knowledge and experience with many other airside customers.”
Manchester Airport’s commercial director, Stephen Turner, said the new contract included additional support for its new Terminal 2 extension, which was part of a wider billion-pound programme: “We have always been able to count on GXO’s industry experience and expertise to help us deliver a high-quality passenger experience and we look forward to building this relationship further as we recover from the pandemic,” he added.
