George Willis has replaced Cindy Miller as MD of UPS UK, Ireland & Nordics, following Miller’s promotion to president of UPS Europe, Middle East and Africa earlier this year.
The former US operations manager will be responsible for the parcel carrier’s business in the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Iceland, and will focus on expanding its recently launched click and collect network in the UK.
He joined UPS in 1984 as a package handler in the Georgia district in the US and worked his way up through the firm to East Carolina district manager in 2004, and South Carolina district manager in 2006. Willis held his position as US operations manager since January 2012.
Willis said: “I am particularly excited about further expanding the UPS Access Point B2C network in the UK, and, with the help of my team, I look forward to ensuring that UPS keeps offering all customers here the broadest, most efficient and most reliable logistics services available.”
Cindy Miller said: “He has served on the front lines and in several key operational and management roles in the United States, and I am excited that he is now bringing his nearly three decades of experience to Europe.”
