Electric truck maker Electra is offering a free chassis for the first five October orders of its new 7.5-tonne and 9.2-tonne Iveco-based eCargo platforms.
It said the launch built on the success of Electra’s 12-tonne eCargo platform, which has been operating for more than four years across a range of applications.
Electra said the new platforms brought the same technology to operators requiring lower-weight vehicles, while maintaining real-world performance and payload capability.
They also offer configurable battery placement, allowing operators and bodybuilders to choose between external chassis-mounted or internal frame installations.
Electra’s new eCargo platforms are also aligned with the government’s forthcoming food waste collection legislation, which requires all households in England to receive separate weekly food waste collections by 31 March 2026.
The manufacturer said it could guarantee delivery of the eCargo with a food waste body ahead of this deadline.
“The launch of our 7.5-tonne and 9.2-tonne eCargo platforms represents a major step forward in Electra’s mission to accelerate zero-emission transport,” said MD Benjamin Smith.
“We are proud to introduce another platform into our lineup which combines comfort, versatility, and proven technology.
“Our October launch offer – limited to the first five orders – provides operators with a unique opportunity to upgrade their fleets, while our eight-year battery warranty gives confidence in long-term performance.”
