Iain Speak, former CEO of Bibby Supply Chain Services, has been appointed to two new roles: non-executive director of Suffolk family firm Century Logistics and consultant for Taiwan-based Dimerco Express.

Speak will be assisting Century Logistics, an e-fulfilment and warehousing company founded in 1997 by Stepehn and Ann Basey-Fisher, with its plans for expansion.

Meanwhile Dimerco, which has traditionally focused on China and south-east Asia markets, is looking to branch into Europe, potentially through acquisition. Speak will work closely with senior executives to accelerate global development.

Speak said: “These are two hugely exciting opportunities with organisations where I see significant potential for growth. I’m absolutely thrilled to have been asked to play a role in the next stages of their development.”

He added: "They represent the perfect opportunity for me to use my 17 years’ experience with Bibby Distribution, and previous 18 years with TNT Logistics, to maximum effect.”

Speak stepped down from his leadership role at Bibby Supply Chain Services at the end of last year in order to set-up his own consultancy business. He continues his involvement with the group on a consultancy basis.

A new MD has yet to be announced at Bibby, as has the role of chief operating officer following Paul Kavanagh’s move to become MD at R Swain & Sons at the beginning of this year.
