European logistics provider Ewals Cargo Care has acquired Dutch company Vos Transport Group, creating a business with 3,500 employees and annual revenues of €850m (£734.3m).

Ewals said the deal strengthened its expansion in part loads and Vos Transport Group would be able to roll out its part load activities across Europe at an accelerated pace.

Both family-run businesses will continue to operate separately, with Vos Transport Group taking the lead of the part loads division within Ewals.

Ewals said this approach ensured continuity for employees and customers, as well as providing room to deepen collaboration in the future.

The acquisition is subject to approval by the relevant competition authorities.

Bram Ewals, CEO at Ewals Cargo Care, said: “We are extremely proud to welcome Vos Transport Group to Ewals Cargo Care. From the very first moment, it was clear that as family businesses we share the same values: long-term thinking, craftsmanship, commitment and a strong focus on people.

“Vos Transport Group distinguishes itself as an innovative and sustainable player in the market. By joining forces, we create new opportunities for our customers and partners and build a stronger future together.”

Jules Menheere, Vos MD, added: “This step marks a great new phase for Vos Transport Group.

“We remain true to who we are, while benefiting from the strength of a broader European multimodal network. It enables us to grow, to innovate and to continue delivering the reliability our customers rely on.”

Vos Transport Group is an entirely separate company from Vos Logistics, which was acquired by France’s Jacky Perrenot earlier this year.
