A driver who died while making a delivery to Toyota’s factory in Burnaston last week worked for Goldstar Transport in Felixstowe, the motor manufacturer has confirmed.
Toyota said the 56-year-old male driver was delivering a container of parts to the Derbyshire site and had been instructed to collect an empty container to return to Felixstowe.
It was unable to provide more details of the accident, but said: “The police and the HSE are investigating the incident and have stated that there don’t appear to be any suspicious circumstances. We are supporting the police and the HSE with their inquiries. Our thoughts continue to be with the driver’s family and friends and we extend our sincere condolences to them.”
Derbyshire police were called to the Toyota factory at 12.40am on 22 January after receiving a report of a man trapped between two lorries.
