Simon Evans and Tim Blackmore OBE have been named as traffic commissioners (TCs) for the North West and North East respectively.
Evans (pictured top), deputy TC for the North West, will replace Beverley Bell as North West TC when she leaves this spring. Bell will also vacate her position as senior TC, but her replacement has not yet been named.
Blackmore (below) will fill the North East TC position in May, replacing Kevin Rooney who became TC for the West of England earlier this year. Blackmore is currently head of the British Forces Post Office and was commissioned into the Royal Corps of Transport in 1992.
Four new deputy TCs have also been named by the DfT. Mark Hinchliffe will become deputy TC for the North East; Jayne Salt for the North West; Laura Thomas for the East of England and Hugh Olson for Scotland.
A reshuffle last year saw Nick Jones become Wales' first full-time TC, and several other TCs redeployed.
