United Pallet Network member DBL Logistics has secured £1.8m of funding from HSBC to expand the business with a new 50,000ft² Sheffield DC.
Due for completion in January 2013, the new site will run in tandem with DBL’s existing 25,000ft² facility in the Sheffield Business Park, and the company hopes additional volumes will boost its annual turnover, currently £3m per year.
The company holds an O-licence for 15 trucks and trailers, but will look to increase the authorisation to 25 trucks and trailers, with the creation of at least 10 new job roles.
MD David Clarkson says: "We are being constrained at the moment by the size of our current warehouse and this is something we believe the new site will help alleviate. There is strong demand for our product, which we believe is a quality service at a competitive price, and the new site forms a key part of our growth strategy."
Roy Harris, HSBC Midlands regional commercial director, adds: "This is a successful, long-standing family run business that is looking to expand and HSBC is pleased to support it.We welcome DBL as a new customer and look forward to working with the company as it develops its impressive new distribution centre."
