Dawsongroup has donated a tractor and trailer to Road to Logistics, a not-for-profit organisation that specialises in training unemployed, ex-offenders and former military service staff to gain an LGV Licence and full time employment as a driver.

Jim French MBE was appointed MD in 2020 since when over 400 drivers have completed the training programme and 83.5% have been placed in permanent employment. There are currently 112 trainees progressing through the course.

The model training programme used by RtL includes other elements beneficial to a new driver, such as an introduction to logistics, employability skills, health and safety and personal finance. Further coaching and mentoring is available for more vulnerable learners.

Road to Logistics was launched in 2016 as a result of a close collaboration between Microlise and the RHA.
