CM Downton has 0rdered 180 Cartwright trailers to service existing business and provide additional capacity for growth.
The order consists of double-deck and hydraulic deck trailers, including longer-length and aerodynamic versions.
Rob Emery, director at CM Downton, said: “We’re increasingly requiring larger and more flexible fleets to meet customers’ needs, and help them to respond to what remains a fluid and complex marketplace.
“We’ve had a good 2013 so far, with some significant wins in the first quarter,” said Emery, “and these trailers will help to ensure we have the capacity and flexibility to meet these increased demands.”
The trailers join a fleet of more than 1,200 trailers and 500 vehicles spread across Downton’s national network of depots.
In March CM Downton revealed that a tough year (to June 2012) had put its profits under pressure.
