Ceva Logistics has had its 26 year relationship with Crown Paint extended after it signing a five and a half year contract, worth €50m (£40.3m).
The contract will see Ceva manage Crown's trade warehouse operation, nationwide distribution of retail and trade product, and inter-site and bulk transport movements.
In addition Ceva has opened a €1.5m (£1.2m) trade warehouse operation for Crown in Hull today (22 June), as an export base to export paint. The move has created 70 jobs, primarily in warehouse management and paint deliveries.
Andy Fitt, senior vice president of contract logistics for Ceva in the UK, says: “We will continue to work very closely with Crown, with Ceva management involved in factory production meetings to make sure the whole operation runs as efficiently as possible. We are also running a paint mixing facility to fulfil bespoke orders.
“We are delighted to be appointed as Crown’s strategic supply chain partner and further extend our scope of services. The successful operation of the new warehouse operation will be achieved through our robust quality systems and a joint commitment to continuous improvement.”
