Building materials company Cemex will run its apprenticeship scheme for the second year running.
The year-long programme, run in conjunction with System Training, gives apprentices what it describes as a “framework to achieve a Driving Goods Apprenticeship Level 2 and Category C + E licence”.
The company is looking to recruit 18 people to train at locations across the UK, including six who will work at its three UK cement operations in Rugby, South Ferriby in Lincolnshire and Tilbury.
The programme includes training in health and safety, customer service and driving experience; Cemex said 70% of the course is practical training.
Dave Hart, Cemex logistics and supply chain director said: "We very much hope we can find the high calibre apprentices who want to play a key role in CemexUK. They will be based at our cement operations, quarries, wharves and depots throughout the country.
“It’s a challenging scheme but will give the young person a skill and career for life.”
