An investment of £7m in 500 new trailers in the past 18 months to take the fleet to over 6,500 vehicles has catapulted Cartwright Rentals to number three in the UK trailer rental market.
According to the 2016 CV Informer listing of truck and trailer rental companies, Cartwright has overtaken Ryder and is now on the heels of number 2 Dawsonrentals as the Cheshire-based trailer builder, rental operator and maintenance provider pledges further growth in 2017. Chinese-owned TIP remains the clear market leader.
Cartwright Rentals offers a wide range of trailer types including Transdek fixed-deck wedge, doubledeck refrigerated, tri-temp, dual temp and single temp products, as well as ambient units such as the new Streetwise urban delivery trailer. It is the first company in the UK to offer a tri-temp moving-deck, doubledeck refrigerated trailer.
Phil Rodman, MD of Cartwright Rentals, said: “We are able to provide the widest choice of rental products available today in the industry and are fortunate to be in the unique position as part of a one-stop solution under the Cartwright brand with a diverse choice of business options from new build and rental, finance, fleet services and conversions.”
As well as a diverse fleet whose age continues to fall as Cartwright invests in new trailers, Rodman said that operators are coming to the company because of the range of additional services it can offer, including management information, compliance platforms, innovative technology and tracking systems.
“The rental transaction is no longer a simple black and white deal between supplier and customer,” he said. “We have developed long-term partnerships helping meet the complex demands of their business.”
