Nantwich, Cheshire-based Boughey Distribution has reshuffled some of its management team, creating two new roles to raise levels of service to customers.
The move, effective from the end of January, has seen former transport operations director Martyn Nicholls become commercial director; while former depot director Bernard Murphy has become operations director.
Boughey MD Keith Forster told Motor Transport the move would remove a former split between transport and warehousing operations, which both now fall under Murphy, helping to achieve better co-ordination between the two functions; while all customer-facing services and business development would now fall under Nicholls, rather than being handled by a number of different people.
“The aim of these changes is to significantly enhance customer service provision and provide greater coordination within the operational aspects of our business,” he commented. “It's about getting a nice, smooth, one-stop shop for our customers.”
