Bartrums officially opened its £7m warehousing facility in Eye last week, with help from local MP Dr Dan Poulter.

The 70,000sq ft fully racked facility in the Suffolk town can hold up to 9,200 pallets and its new tenant is Aspall Cyder after the haulier won a multi-million pound, five-year contract with the cider brand.

Local building contractors who helped construct the warehouse, various generations of the Bartrums family and customer Skinners Petfood also attended the event.

Poulter congratulated the logistics operator on almost 100 years of trading and added: “I wish Bartrums every success for the next 100 years and I am very impressed by the work they do in moving around our fabulous Suffolk food and drink produce. I would also like to congratulate Aspalls, who have become the anchor tenant in the new warehouse, setting up a five-year partnership arrangement.”
