Wincanton’s group HSQ director, Dean Clamp, is to join the board of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT UK). Clamp is responsible for setting the strategy for continuous improvements in health and safety at Wincanton and previously he worked at DHL as vice president for operational risk for mainland Europe. Wincanton has reversed heavy losses and is “back on track” – despite a 9.6% fall in turnover – after a turbulent two years that saw it sell its loss-making European activities and exit a poor performing market in the UK.
