Croydon-based PF Whitehead Transport Services increased profits by 2.6% last year on revenues that remained broadly static. The storage, distribution and haulage contractor reported a pre-tax profit of £712,229 for the year ending 31 July 2019, up from £694,030 the year before. Turnover was £8.23m, compared with £8.28m in 2018. The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) is about to enter the final stage of its investigation into Mercedes-Benz and five vehicle dealerships over suspected breaches of the Competition Act in the distribution of commercial vehicles. Express parcels and mail provider UK Mail Group says it is taking action to plug the gaps in its pallet distribution business UK Pallets. It reported a significant decline in operating profit from this division during the first six months of the financial year.
