Motortransport.co.uk has learnt that DHL Supply Chain was reappointed as logistics partner for retailer Nisa in the UK back in April, as well as winning the contract for the Republic of Ireland. The government’s decision to unilaterally extend the grace periods relating to border checks on some agri-food products going into Northern Ireland, which were set to expire after 31 March 2021, has been given the thumbs up by Logistics UK.
DHL has closed one of its DCs in the North-West after one of the site’s major customers reviewed its entire transport operations. The firm plans to move operations which are part of its Supply Chain division at its Widnes, Cheshire site to its existing Avonmouth, Somerset, and Radlett, Herts, sites, following the relocation of a contract with kitchen maker Howdens Joinery from Merseyside to Howden, East Yorkshire.
