DHL Supply Chain has strengthened its 25 year relationship with Mothercare by winning an extension to its contract.

The five-year deal sees DHL Supply Chain handle national distribution to Mothercare’s network of over 300 UK stores and its international franchises until 2020.

DHL will manage the operation at its main site in Crick, Northamptonshire, handling both Mothercare and Early Learning Centre brands.

The extended contract focuses on cost and collaboration with the aim of acheiving greater efficiency for the UK operation. It will also help drive Mothercare’s international growth strategy.

Graeme Thompson, global supply chain planning and development chief at Mothercare UK, said: “We are always looking at ways to serve our customers better and the new contract with DHL ensures parents in the UK and worldwide can get the quality products they need at their convenience. An integrated and streamlined supply chain is key to this vision.”
