Allport Cargo Services has sold its Specialist Services division to Bishopsgate Specialist Installations, Motortransport.co.uk can reveal.
Specialist Services undertakes the delivery, positioning and installation of technical, sensitive and outsize consignments, such as ATM machines, gourmet coffee stations, computers and VT equipment.
Last year it added its first ever Renualt Trucks to its clost to 30-strong vehicle fleet.
Danny Clayton, joint group MD of Allport Cargo Services, said: "Specialist Services has been operating as a division of Allport since 1977, over which time it has built an enviable client portfolio, a unique team of professionals and a formidable reputation for excellence in the field of specialist deliveries and installations."
"In joining Bishopsgate they are becoming part of the fastest growing specialist transportation providers in the UK, which means that they are in the best environment for future development and their customers will continue to enjoy the highest levels of performance and service."
Clayton said the sale would leave the recently rebranded Allport focused on its core international logistics business, which takes in freight forwarding, supply chain management and contract distribution.
