Knights of Old Group has purchased 12 new MAN TGX tractor units in a deal worth almost £1m.
The operator said the vehicles are part of a phase of expansion and ongoing fleet renewal.
Four of the 12 6x2 trucks will given to Nelson Distribution, which joined the group last year, with the remaining eight destined for Knights of Old Ireland Express.
Paul Abbott, group director at the Knights of Old Group, said: “This significant investment is vital to the Knights of Old Group, where the continuous renewal of the fleet has implications for road safety, worker safety and efficiency.
"MAN’s ability to tailor the contract to the company’s specific needs, to include full repair, maintenance and tyre cover meant we were more than happy to continue our relationship with them.”
MAN Truck and Bus UK sales executive Scott Munton said the TGX "has exactly the right drive concept for heavy-duty transport, perfect for the Knights of Old Group".
