JDL Logistics, which entered into administration last month, is to close down in the next few weeks with the loss of all jobs.Speaking to Motortransport.co.uk the firm’s administrator Graham Wolloff confirmed that “it hasn’t been possible to find a way to rescue the company, so we will have to close the business over the coming weeks”.
Wolloff, Elwell Watchorn & Saxton, had been attempting to sell the leasehold on JDL’s 64,583ft² warehouse as a going concern, after closing the firm’s transport business at the point of administration.
The closure of the warehouse will see a further nine staff lose their jobs, on top of the 29 that went when JDL’s road transport operation closed.
The company was a member of the Fortec pallet network as well as the Palletways network.
Earlier this month a spokeswoman for Fortec said: “The area that JDL covered is now being serviced by two existing members: APLE and Linkline Transport.”
Palletways confirmed that H&M Distribution – which has sites in Newton Le Willows near St Helens; St Neots, Cambridgeshire and Gloucester – had set up as a new depot to service the area covered by JDL Logistics.
