Howard Tenens has made a series of changes to its leadership team following the retirement of Keith Charlton.
The company, which won Livery of the Year Award at last year’s Motor Transport Awards, has promoted former joint MD Jamie Hartles to the position of CEO.
Hartles has been with the company for more than 12 years, joining originally as a commercial manager. He was named joint MD in August of last year stepping up from the role of logistics director at the firm.
Hartles said of Charlton: “Keith made a tremendous contribution to the business over the past five years, adding considerable stability and strength over that period.”
Charlton, who was chairman of logistics at the Stroud, Gloucestershire-based operator, will be retained as a consultant to the business.

Karl Hodgkinson, who has been with the business for nearly three years, initially as group commercial director and then joint MD since last year, has become outright MD of the Motor Transport Top 100 company.
Hodkinson was a director at Northampton-based C Butt.
Hartles added that despite the challenging economic times in the UK “Howard Tenens is well positioned to navigate them successfully, with the support of the teams across the business and the customer partnerships we have developed”.
