Contract hire, vehicle sales and fleet management provider Hexagon Leasing has recruited Alan Ellison (pictured) to the new role of chief executive.

He takes up his new post this week having previously spent five years as commercial director at Motus Commercials after 12 years at DAF Trucks in various senior roles. He also holds an MBA from Warwick Business School.

His appointment follows a number of other senior appointments this year. These include Paul Jacques, who joined as finance director, and former Intercounty Truck and Van group operations manager Dean Bailey, who has been appointed as Hexagon Leasing as head of operations.

Other key developments include the creation of a new fleet engineering and tyre management department, the strengthening of the finance team and the appointment of three new national and key account managers. The company is also planning to increase the sales team in the near future.

Hexagon Leasing, which  moved to a new head office in Burton Upon Trent last year, said Ellison's appointment will further strengthen the management team at Hexagon as it continues to drive its growth strategy and development plans.

Ellison said: “This is an exciting time to be joining Hexagon, the business has a unique history of providing innovative solutions to customers and has a fantastic, long-standing and loyal customer following.

“With supply chain disruptions and long manufacturer lead times, it’s really pleasing to see that Hexagon took a proactive stance and have a strong pipeline of new vehicles to support customers’ business both in 2022 and in 2023. The business has a talented and award-winning team of people which I am truly looking forward to working with.”
