The Halcyon Tankers division of Hargreaves Logistics has been sold for an undisclosed sum to a team of former Hargreaves directors.
The team includes Andrew Spence-Wolrich, former Hargreaves Logistics MD.
The deal sees Halcyon MD Ian Elliott, Spence-Wolrich and Nigel Barraclough, who was MD of Hargreaves Services between 2011 and 2015, become owners of the haulage company, which specialises in transporting petroleum and bulk chemicals across the UK from its base in Port Clarence, Middlesbrough.
Elliott will continue as MD at Halcyon Tankers, with Spence-Wolrich taking the role of commercial director and Barraclough the role of finance director.

Both Spence-Wolrich and Elliott, who was the MD of Imperial Tankers until Hargreaves sold the firm to Suttons Group in 2014, were part of the team that launched Halcyon Tankers in July 2017.
The company has seen rapid growth delivering a turnover of £3m within the first six months and now has a fleet of 26 tankers.
